The other day someone was complaining about being bored with the tumblrs they normally read. Below is a list of tumblrs I can’t go a day without checking:

52Books - Laura has made it her mission to read a book a week for all of 2008. I love keeping up with her list and have garnered many ideas from it. (Note: I am also a member of the Tumblr Bookclub, which I recommend if you are looking to read good books but don’t have time for one a week.)

lfarm - Lauren’s content is always amusing and often teaches me something. I love her carefree, optimistic outlook on life. She doesn’t have an ounce of New York snobbery, which is a rarity around here, and her posts always put me in a good mood.

Squashed - this blog helps me tap into my political side. To be honest, some of his stuff is a little over my head, but it gets me thinking.

en quotations - this tumblr is a collection of quotes. And who doesn’t love quotes?

blahblahblahg - Sabine is just a damn cool girl. She hails from Canada and thus posts a lot of content us Americans wouldn’t share.

Seriously though - I’m going to dub Erin the queen of reblogging. She finds the coolest content on tumblr and keeps nicely organized for me.

la.petite.figue - I get my fix of cool artsy stuff here.

This is by no means a comprehensive list. Everyone I follow is interesting and contributes cool stuff, but these folks are some of my favorites.

WFTDA Rankings

The new Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) rankings have Boston at 14 (up a few spots from the last round). They also earned a spot at WFTDA Eastern Regionals, and will take on Grand Raggidy in the first round. The winner will face Carolina, who lost to Cincinnati this weekend (Cincy will take on Charm City in the first round).

I hope my new derby-mates kick some serious ass come October.

I just now checked and in twelve hours and now it’s up to $29.99. Lame! Opportunity is not a lengthy visitor.

The whole series is available on Hulu.com, streaming for free, and the first season is commercial-free.
